Welcome to the new board President, Marny Eulberg!
Although Marny is stepping into a new role, she is no stranger to Friends of Guoeul. For the past 9 years, Marny has passionately dedicated her time by serving as a board member and utilizing her skills as the secretary.
From a young age, the value of education was instilled in Marny and her sister – always being encouraged to pursue an education and graduate college if that was their desire. In 1974, Marny graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine with an advanced degree as a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Marny has worked as a family medicine physician and in the education of young doctors.
When asked about the importance of education for girls in Gueoul, Marny had this to say, “Education is an important factor in the prevention or minimization of poverty for everyone, but especially for girls who become women. The benefits of education have been proven to extend to their children and families and persist for generations. Friends of Guéoul has now been involved in girls’ education long enough to have young women who have completed the equivalent of high school in the United States and some are enrolled in college.”…..And we can’t agree more!
We are so thankful to continue this relationship with Marny, and welcome her into her new role as president!”
